Jon Koriel is a seasoned public affairs and strategic communications professional with over a decade of experience advancing complex public policy initiatives and helping create and execute multi-faceted government relations, media and communications strategies. He is known for cultivating deep, trusted relationships with policymakers, community and business leaders, media outlets, and advocacy groups, and for managing high-stakes communications programs, including crisis response and legislative campaigns. Jon is passionate about working with diverse communities to advance equity-driven policies. His ability to navigate California’s dynamic political and media landscape and communicate across sectors has consistently delivered results for his clients.

Before joining Bryson Gillette, Jon worked in public affairs for Comcast California, where he led efforts to strengthen the company’s reputation and expand its influence among elected officials, media, and stakeholders across the state. He has also held senior roles at Fiona Hutton & Associates and The Raben Group, where he led integrated campaigns in sectors such as higher education, broadband access, economic development, land use, access to equitable healthcare, and criminal justice reform. He played a central role in the successful passage of California Propositions 14 and 47, which helped fund groundbreaking stem cell research and reform the state’s criminal justice system by reducing prison overcrowding and prioritizing prevention.

Jon received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Chapman University and his master’s degree in public policy from Pepperdine University. He was born in Baghdad, Iraq and immigrated to the U.S. with his family as a child. Outside of work, Jon loves to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoys the outdoors and staying active by playing tennis, hiking some of LA’s best trails, and training at Barry’s bootcamp.
