An expert in devising and implementing captivating strategic communication plans, Michael Kurtz has over a decade of experience coordinating progressive campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. Recently, Michael served as a Michigan-based political consultant, working alongside Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist on multiple successful GOTV campaigns targeting constituencies statewide. Prior to that, he directed a presidential campaign in Michigan, served as a budget advisor and comptroller for a successful statewide ballot initiative, and managed a winning congressional campaign for an open seat in a red-to-blue district. Michael’s career began with President Obama’s ’08 campaign, where he worked as a finance assistant, and continued as a highly effective fundraiser for multiple election cycles, raising millions of dollars for campaigns nationwide.
Outside the office, Michael enjoys spending time camping and exploring new vegetarian recipes and restaurants. He currently resides in Michigan with his fiancé, Megan, and their cat, Lucy.
