Ifetayo Olutosin (she/her/hers) recently received her doctoral degree in comparative literature from the University of Southern California, where she also earned an M.A. in comparative literature. Her dissertation focused on exploring the formation of Black aesthetics in contemporary Afro-Latin American film, specifically looking at Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. Throughout her academic career, she has contributed to numerous publications at USC, including the School of Cinematic Arts In Motion magazine. With a strong background in strategic communication and public affairs, she served as a copy editor and graduate teaching consultant at USC and as a public affairs intern at Viacom. Ifetayo has been recognized with several fellowships, including the Diversity, Inclusion, Access Fellowship at USC, a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, and The Posse Foundation Full-Tuition Leadership Scholarship.
In her free time, she enjoys daily walks, pilates, reading romance and crime novels, and trying out new culinary dishes.
